An important aspect of the Council’s work is the projection abroad not only of India’s rich cultural heritage but also of contemporary achievements. The Council regularly sponsors exhibitions of India’s contemporary and traditional arts in major festivals and art events abroad.
Under bilateral cultural exchange programmes with other countries and under its own programme of activities, ICCR sponsors exhibitions of Indian art and crafts to foreign countries and receives exhibitions from abroad for exposition in India.
In addition, the Council has an ongoing programme of presenting busts and statues of great Indian leaders for ceremonial installations in other countries.
