To showcase the best of Indian dance, music, theatre, puppetry and the folk arts, the Council empanels performing artistes proficient in their respective fields to be placed on reference lists. Empanelled artistes from these reference lists may be considered for being sponsored abroad by the Council for cultural performances.

The forms and styles for empanelment are the various dance styles of India, folk dances of various Indian states, music - vocal and instrumental - Hindustani and Carnatic styles, Theatre & Puppetry and Modern experimental works of Dance & Music.

Performing artistes desirous of being empanelled with the ICCR may apply to the Council, following the simple procedure laid down.

Empanelment of performing artistes is an ongoing process. Application Forms can be submitted at anytime by post or by hand only. Please go through the guidelines before filling the forms.

Expert Sub Committees for the various art forms, listed above, are appointed, consisting of eminent gurus and practitioners of these forms, experts and scholars.

Meetings of these committees are convened regularly as and when required depending on the number of applications received by the Council. The likely dates of the next round of meetings will be taken place in first quarter of 2008. The decision of the Empanelment Committees is final and applicants are informed accordingly.

Artistes are placed in Proficient, Established and Outstanding category on the basis of merit.
