Conference and Seminar Section is responsible for organizing/sponsoring seminars and interaction with the intellectual, opinion makers and academicians. The section examines the requests received from various universities/NGOs for financial support to organize these events.

PROPOSALS IMPLEMENTED DURING THE YEAR 2007-2008

• Assisted Forum of SAARC Writers and Literature(FOSWAL), New Delhi   for organizing 19th SAARC Literary  Conference held on 3-4th April, 07 at IIC, New Delhi.
• Assisted Interfaith Harmony Foundation of India, New Delhi for organizing  South Asia Interfaith harmony Conclave held at Jawahar Bhavan, New Delhi on 21-22nd April, 07. It was inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.
• Meeting of DG, ICCR with delegation  from European Union on 30th April, 07 at Hotel Imperial.
• Assisted Kritya Foundation, Trivandrum for organizing International Poetry Festival at Trivandrum from  20-23 July, 07
• Assisted Iran Society, Kolkata for organizing the Millenary of Maulana Jallaluddin Rumi at Kolkata from 25-27 Aug., 2007.
• International Seminar on Storytelling to promote peace, Cultural Integration and the Reading Habit in Children” being organized by Association of Writers and Illustrators for Children (AWIC) during Sept., 17-19, 2007.

• Assistance to IILM, Jaipur for organizing International Conference on “ Economics of Non-violence: Cultural Values and Ethics” at Udaipur during 1-3rd Nov., 2007.
• “The Messenger of Love, Peace and Unity “ a Conference on Maualana Jalaluddin Rumi being organized by Jamia Miliia Islamia University, New Delhi from 17-21st Nov., 2007.
• International Seminar “ India and Southeast Asia- Shared Cultural Heritage “ organized by Allahabad Museum” during 24-26 Nov., 2007.
• Seminar on the Theme : Indigo-Plant, Process, Product, Politics being organized IIC, Asia Project, Smt. Kapila Vatsyayan, to be held at IIC, New Delhi from 29 Nov.,—1st Dec., 2007 ( a participant each from Indonesia, Thailand, Srilanka, Pakistan, France will be participating)
• “Central Asia- India Dialogue” Building a Partnership on the Foundation of Rich Cultural Heritage being organized in Tashkent during Nov., 2007.
• "12th International Conference of National Trusts and related Conservation Organizations being organized by INTACH during 3-5th Dec., 2007. ( two delegates each from Iran & Iraq and one from Cuba will be participating)
• “Buddhist Culture in Asia- Unity in Diversity” a conference on Buddhist Studies being organized by K.J. Somaiya Centre for Buddhist Studies, Mumbai in January, 2008.
• Indo-Israel Colloquium being organized in New Delhi in January, 2008.
• Assistance to Deptt. of Buddhist Studies, University of Delhi for organizing International conference on “ Sangiti: Perspectives and Prospects” during 7-9th Feb., 2008.
• International Conference of Indologist from India, Russia and CIS countries to coincide with Festival of Russia in India being held in February, 2008.
• Seminar to mark the World wide celebration, in 2008 of the 50th year of the Publication of the noted Nigerian writer Chinua Achebe’s first novel “ Things fall Apart” being organized by Deptt. of English, Osmania University, Hyderabad during 2008.
