The Regional Office in Chandigarh was established in 1980 to represent the ICCR locally in the region and to strengthen its activities in the Union Territory of Chandigarh and the States of Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir.

The Regional Office coordinates activities with regard to international students and their welfare, cultural performances by visiting foreign delegations, outgoing cultural delegations from the region, distinguished visitors, exhibitions and seminars. It coordinates closely with local cultural & educational organizations and the Government of the Union Territory of Chandigarh for carrying out ICCR’s mandate of activities.
